COROT

The scientific programme is centered on the Search for Extrasolar Planets and on the Detection of Stellar Oscillations. It is the first space mission of this type. COROT has been launched by CNES on 27 December 2006.

DENIS
The DENIS project (A DEep Near Infrared Southern Sky Survey) is the first tentative to digitally map the sky at large-scale. The goal is to survey astronomical sources in 3 photometric bands (I = 0.85, J = 1.25 et Kshort = 2.15 microns) with a spatial resolution of the order of an arcsecond and limiting magnitudes I = 18, J = 16 and K = 14.

FLUOR
Recombination instrument by monomode optical fibers installed since 1995 on the american interferometer IOTA

FORT

GAIA
Global Astrometry in Space for the 21th Century. GAIA has been selected as 6th Corner Stone of ESA (launch before 2012, possible from 2010).

NAOS
NAOS is a system of adaptive optics, to correct astronomical images from distortions from atmospheric turbulence. This new instrument is now on VLT at ESO, in Chile and currently produce astrophysical results.

OHANA
Project of recombination of the 7 large telescopes of Mauna Kea by monomode optical fibers to realize the largest and more sensitive optical interferometre
