CAOS software (Code for Adaptive Optics Systems)
C. Verinaud, M. Carbillet
The CAOS software (Code for Adaptive Optics Systems) is a simulation package that allows to simulate a wide range of AO systems, thanks to a very user-friendly graphical interface. We describe some new modules that will be added to the next version, such as pyramid wavefront sensing, Multi-Conjugate Tomography, Layer-Oriented systems, effect of scintillation. CAOS is also a very modular environment for developments that allows to develop one's own modules. As an example, we describe the simulation of an AO-aided coronograph taking into account Fresnel diffraction through the atmospheric turbulence layers.
