Numerical simulation of the electron dynamic through a shock wave

Electron acceleration processes play an important role at collisionless shocks. Only full-particle simulations allow us to investigate self-consistently the dynamic of this particular population. Both reflected and transmitted electrons through the shock wave show characteristic behavior which will be presented here. A particular interest will be given to the impact of different processes on electron acceleration analyzed recently such as (a) shock front inhomogeneity, (b) shock front instationarity and (c) curvature effects of an expanding shock front.
