The Solar Wind as seen by Ulysses and SoHO (PNST)
Milan Maksimovic
I will present some of the results from the Ulysse and SOHO missions, that have improved greatly our understanding of the solar corona and the associated solar wind and heliosphere.

CLUSTER observations of turbulence at the earth's bow shock (PNST)
M. Maksimovic, S. D. Bale, N. Cornilleau-Wehrlin et al.
We analyze electric and magnetic field power spectral densities of plasma waves in the earth’s bow shock using the STAFF and EFW experiments on Cluster. The shock properties are computed from the timing of the boundary crossings on the four spacecraft, using the spacecraft potential change as the boundary indicator. The waves power spectral densities are measured in the frequency 8 Hz to 4 kHz using the STAFF spectrum analyzer. We study the correlations of the spectral shape, peak intensity and growth rate of the plasma wave turbulence with the shock characteristics such as the normal angle or Alven Mach number.
