Presentation 1 : Oral
Oxygen abundance at the very beginning of the Galaxy
Eric Depagne
In the framework of the ESO Large Program "First Stars" we observed
about 20 stars in a metallicity range -4.0 <[Fe/H]< -2.5 to study the
abundance distribution at the very beginning of the Galaxy.
The oxygen abundance is an important parameter for many astrophysical
problems, among which are: (1) precise globular clusters age
determination, (2) type II supernovae nucleosynthesis tests and (3)
stellar evolution theories tests.
I will present the results of the oxygen abundance determination in our
sample
