Development plans of the Mariotti Center
Alain Chelli
The Jean-Marie Mariotti Center is a network of 10 french institutes
created in 2000. It aims at coordinating the french efforts in
interferometry to set the users of interferometric facilities in
an optimal operational position by providing sofware, assistance and
academic formation. We describe the realisations and the developement
plans of the Mariotti Center.
Presentation 2 : Oral
How to achieve extremely high precision with phase referencing and differential interferometry
Alain Chelli
Differential interferometry and Phase referencing are high spatial
resolution techniques. They share the common characteristics of
differential techniques. When building a new experiment, astronomers
tend to favour high sensibility. However, because of systematic errors, high sensitivity is
not compatible with high precision. We discuss this problematic and we
propose solutions to reach very high precision.
