The star formation rate in nearby disk galaxies

The Star Formation Rate (SFR) (and its spatial variation within a galaxy) is a very important ingredient of galactic evolution and aspect. In nearby disk galaxies, fortunately, both theories and observations concerning the SFR do exist. We present recent results obtained by comparing the former to the latter.
