Place and date

The conference will be held in Meudon Observatory , France, from Tuesday, July 23 to Saturday noon, July 27, 2002. Given the size of the amphitheatre, the number of participants is limited to 220.

There are frequent trains from Paris to Meudon and back to Paris, see the TIME-TABLE. Free buses will be available to go from the Conference to the Meudon railway station (and back), and from the Orphelinat St Philippe to Conference.
BUSES will wait in the morning at Meudon Bellevue station at 8h30/8h40.
They will wait at the Meudon Observatory at 18h30 on the evening to go to Meudon Bellevue station (on Saturday at 13h).
On the first day, Tuesday morning several persons of the LOC, signaled by the poster meeting, will wait at 8h am in front of the Paris Montparnasse station, under the big clock, will distribute free train tickets, and will show you the way to Meudon.

The meeting will take place in the amphitheatre of LAM, Building 18, on this map of the Meudon Observatory.

Contributions

Size of the Posters: no more than 1m in width, and a little more in height (vertical A0 is compatible).

There will be two video projectors and two retro-projectors. if you want to use video, you have to bring your laptop, and if necessary a plug adaptor.

Workshop schedule

The conference will be held over 4 days and a half. Sessions will be from 9h to 13h in the morning and from 14h30 to 18h in the afternoon. Allowing for two 30 minute coffee breaks per day, this schedule accommodates 6h30 of talks per day.
The talks will comprise reviews of 30 minutes (+ 10 minutes of questions/discussion), invited talks of 20 minutes (+ 5 min) and oral contributions of 15 minutes (+5).

Accommodation

There are many hotels in Paris, around the Paris-Meudon stations, and in Meudon at various prices. Note that it is preferable to choose in Paris an hotel near the Montparnasse station, since buses will start from here, and also it is one of the train stations to Meudon. Look at our SELECTION OF HOTELS and make the (on-line) hotel reservation by yourself as soon as possible.
